H o l i s t i c  P s y c h o t h e r a p y

As my education and practice have evolved, the foundation of the work that I do in the office is a holistic style of psychotherapy in which we are working with emotional processing as well as the body to facilitate transformation and change.  We continue to use holistic modalities and body work to make the transformation occur fluidly; however, we are also working with talk therapy, life coaching and visualization as a mainstay of the work. The body work assists in the integration of the new information gained by the client.   It also helps the client maintain groundedness as the emotional unfolding occurs.

Primarily people come to my office because they are very ready to change that which is no longer working for them.  I hold this space and intention in a very focused way.  We work with unresolved patterns of behaviour, including, grief, depression, codependence, anxiety, addictions, marital, parenting, mother, father, and sibling issues, life purpose issues, a variety of relationship issues, repetition/compulsion distress, poor self esteem, conflict resolution, trauma, and anything else that is compromising a person from fully living in joy, ease, well being, health and happiness. This work is wonderfully effective for those who are dealing with chronic emotional lack of ease.

In a session:

Techniques used include:

  • Coaching: goal setting, correcting erroneous belief patterns, day to day goal managing

  • Somatic focusing: accessing the deep subconscious and unconscious realms through dialoguing deeply with the body, the mind and spirit

  • Mantras: Sanskrit words and prayers that shift our vibration

  • Visualizing: using the imagination to self regulate and self heal through imagery and journeying, storytelling

  • Relaxation: Activating the parasympathetic nervous system i.e. the biochemical relaxation response through various means including Polarity Therapy, Cranio-Sacral, Reiki, movement, stretching, breathe work and more.

  • Affirmations: Utilizing language awareness and word repetition to transform thoughts, attitudes and vibration

  • New Decision Therapy: (See page)

  • Traditional talk therapy:  Giving space for the client to explore and express feelings, own awareness’s, observe and understand realizations, transform thoughts, grieve, vent, and create vast opportunities for completion and integration.

The above mentioned techniques are used in order to assist the client in developing self healing tools.  The first of which is self awareness. Once aware, the client can then access parts of themselves that are residing in the unconscious.  By shining a light on these parts, the person is then able to transform them and to ultimately integrate them.  Other key tools are willingness, persistence and courage.  These, amoung many others, are essential for change and transformation to occur. A consistent movement toward becoming a whole and integrated person is the eventual outcome.
